Rust has reared its ugly head once again on my beloved car. It must have broken through when I had it washed Monday. I knew this car had rust when I bought it, but I was hoping it’d take longer than this to create holes. At least fenders are cheap and easy to swap out, only about $220-$250 for a used one already painted in “Nighthawk Black Pearl”.
Thankfully, rockers and doors are still in good shape, as is the driver’s side.

Such is life. Saturday you’ll see the rust taking hold on my beloved truck’s rockers.

Yeah, pretty hard to avoid rust around here...

the rear end of me bike is pretty much entirely covered in that rust stuff (i dont think the frame can rust... so this probably means my chain is toast and sharing its rust flakes as far as it can fling them)
it’ll get new parts when salt season is over (it’ll probably get a wash 5 minutes before i take it to the shop coz whats the point of doing it any sooner... it’ll just get dirty again)
so yeah.......nice hole you got there mate.... adds lightness :p

At least it’s the fender and not the quarter panel. Or is it?

Also I found this randomly on Craigslist earlier...the Florida plate answers any questions you may have. I was going to write an unnecessary car shopping post about it but Kinja is acting up.

Impossible for a long term daily driver that has spent one night in 12 years in a garage.
I rented a house with a generous 2-car garage when I first moved to Villa Park. A couple/three months after I moved in, I cleaned it out so I could fit both my Buick and my truck in. That was a Thursday night. Friday night my girlfriend came to stay for the weekend, as she did every weekend. I let her park her car in there for the weekend ... She never went home again.
See you Saturday, right?

Haha — I’d say that letting her park in the garage was a good idea then!!!
Yep - I’ll be there Saturday, on my own (wife is working and son will be at the in-laws)- looking forward to it!

Dealer plate.

Still, that’s how it got into the US. That particular one isn’t even importable to Canada yet.

I naively thought I would park there on weeknights, and she’s park there in the weekends ... yeah, not so much :)
Cool! I’ll have the family with me.
